Winter Garden Pictures - Feb 28th, 2015

We finally go a little rain but it is still not enough to help with the drought. If we don't get more rain I am afraid I will not be able to have a summer garden again this year. That will really make me sad as I have kept all my seeds in the refrigerator hoping and praying for rain! While the summer garden seems to be dwindling, my winter garden in both the greenhouse and outside is actually doing good. The greenhouse is growing some really nice kale and lettuce, the onions, garlic and strawberries are looking great and the wildflowers are starting to bloom. Here are pictures from all of them..

Kale in the greenhouse

Flowering Quince is making the bees happy!

Garlic is doing well - I planted this from garlic heads harvested from last years crop.

Strawberries are blooming and setting fruit already!

This patch of dirt is where I threw down some peas to see if they will grow. They love the cold weather and if we can get a bit more rain they should pop up.

And finally wildflowers...
